Bali itineraries can be quite busy with so many places to visit and long distances. To get you up and going you should pamper yourself in a Bali spa, especially if you are on your honeymoon holiday. You will spot a number of spas in every nook and corner of the streets in Bali offering services from different price ranges, and most likely next to the place you’ll stay . Most of the hotels too have their in house spas. But going to a good Bali spa will give you the true experience of the famous Balinese massages and treatments. Location: Karma Kandara Resort - Ungasan

Karma Spa is located in the Karma Kandara Resort in Southeast Bali along Bukit Peninsula. This spa offers not only great massages but also a breathtaking view of the Indian Ocean. The spa is situated on a cliff overlooking the ocean so you can listen to the waves while you indulge in your relaxing massage or in the Infrared Detox Sauna or the Himalayan Crystal Salt pool. The spa offers a wide range of massages, facials, beauty treatments, ritual spas, detox treatments as well as acupuncture, cupping therapy, reiki and yoga sessions. They use all products made from ingredients sourced from ethical and sustainable farmers and growers which are totally GMO-free. They also have special packages designed for men, teenerages and couples. You can also visit the spa’s private beach post your massage to enjoy the stunning view for some more time.

The Bvlgari Spa

Location: Bulgari Resort Bali - Ungasan

The Bvlgari Spa is part of the Bulgari Resort Bali located on a secluded cliff region on the islands southern Bukit peninsula overlooking the ocean. The spa offers luxurious relaxing massages, body wraps, facials, beauty treatments and detox packages using aromatic and exoctic oils, hot stones to release tension, natural ingredients to exfoliate your body and massaging the right pressure points to help you de-stress. The well trained team of therapists would recommend and ensure you get the right treatment based on your personal specification and to suit your skin type. The treatments are a blend of Balinese, Asian and European techniques. They have special packages for kids from 6-13 years and their signature packages for couples. There are exclusive spa pavilions known as Royal Spa Pavilions, which are reserved for you if you choose a spa package for 3 hours or more. Each spa pavilion has a whirlpool and outdoor living space with open air shower. The Royal Pavilion also has a steam shower and secluded a outdoor plunge pool. The in house guest can pick any of the treatments listed on their menu but the outside guests have to make reservations for treatments that are at least 2 or more hours.

Mango Tree Spa by L'Occitane

Location: Kupu Kupu Barong Villas - Ubud

The Mango Tree Spa is part of the Kupu Kupu Barong Villas & Tree Spa Hotel located few Kms away from the Ubud main hub. The spa overlooks the Ayung River Valley with a view of the river and the lush green forests. The spa has six uniquely designed rooms according to the treatments offered in that particular room. It features the biggest steam room in Bali. One of the highlights is the Tree Spa, which is a tree house built high on the Mango tree with the most amazing view of the river valley used for couple treatments. You can choose individual treatment or packages from their menu. Thermes Marins & Spa On the Rocks is situated in Jimbaran within the Ayana Resort and Spa and is one of the best luxury spas in Bali. The spa has 40 spa rooms in total with 2 spa villas located on the rocks just below the resort cliff surrounded by the Indian Ocean. Royal Kirana Spa

Location: Royal Pita Maha - Ubud

Royal Pita Maha resort, run by the royal family of Ubud, hosts the Royal Kirana Spa. They have 9 two storey treatment villas featuring different facilities but all surrounded by the lush greenery. Royal Ayung Villa is the most lavish one with private swimming pool, hot and cold Jacuzzi, dry sauna, herbal mist sauna and a relaxation gazebo. Most of the products used for their spas are from Japanese beauty care company, Shiseido. Apart for the relaxing massages and facials, their signature treatments include Natural Red Hibiscus Ritual, Aromatic Hibiscus Massage and Traditional Yoga Therapy. If you want spend some more time here pre or post your treatment, you can book a half day or less time slot to enjoy the Spa Lounge and Garden. This area has two swimming pools, garden bar, private yoga pavilion, jacuzzi bath, herbal mist sauna, dry sauna and dressing rooms. The spa also offers complimentary return transportation within Ubud and a shuttle from DFS - Bali Galleria to the spa at 10:30 am and one back in the evening to DFS - Bali Galleria at 6:30 pm.

Location: Petitenget

Bodyworks is one of the oldest spas in Bali with over 20 years of experience. It is located in Petitenget near Seminyak. They offer a variety of massages like Balinese, Thai, Shiatsu, Aromatherapy and Reflexology therapies. Their signature treatment is a 2 hour long exfoliation treatment which starts with a balinese massage followed by exfoliation using natural ingredients like turmeric, sandalwood, cinnamon, ground nuts and rice. After exfoliation, fresh yoghurt  is applied all over the body to increase the pH balance of the skin. The final step involves soaking in warm water with fresh flowers. They also have a special massage for pregnant ladies to calm and release muscle tension. Apart from massages, Bodyworks also offers facials and other beauty and hair treatments. Make sure to book an appointment beforehand as this place is always in high demand.

Tjampuhan Spa

Location: Ubud

Tjampuhan Spa comes with an amazing view of the Campuhan river banks located in Tjampuhan Hotel. Its slightly on the expensive side as compared to the other affordable spas mentioned here but it's the experience that makes up for it. The spa has a cave like setup with several semi-open treatment pavilions and a hot/cold spring water Jacuzzi and their treatments are based on the therapeutic properties of water. They use natural ingredients inspired by ancient Balinese healing and beauty treatments. The spa is open to outside guests too. Their half day Spa Harmony Package includes a traditional treatment of your choice along with a sumptuous lunch while you enjoy the amazing view.

Cantika spa has three spas spread across Ubud in the middle of rice fields. They specialize in treatments involving fresh products made from plants grown in their own garden. The owner of the spa, Ketut Jasi personally makes these products and also conducts workshops for people who want to learn this art along with massage techniques. She guides you based on the ingredients easily available in your home country. You can even purchase some of the products based on availability. Booking an appointment in advance is advised.

Location: Seminyak and Sanur

Glo Day Spa is popular amongst the expats and travellers with a wide variety of services to offer. It has four outlets located in Sanur, Canggu, Seminyak and Nusa Lembongan. The ones in Seminyak and Sanur are the most famous. They specialise in hair styling and colouring. Their bridal and wedding packages are also quite a hit. Most of their packages include a drink of your choice that you can sip on while enjoying the spa services. They also do home service so incase you are too lazy to step out of your hotel room or villa, you can book a home spa service with them. If you are in Bali in a big group or to celebrate an occasion, Glo day spa can make it more special for you by throwing a spa party for you.
