Camping Biarritz

Biarritz lies on the south west coast of France in the Basque region near the border with Spain. It's long been a popular destination for holidaymakers who come to the region for the sun, sea, surf, and beautiful countryside. Tourism has boomed here from the 19th century when European royalty used the destination for the vacations. It's s prime location for campsites due to the spectacular landscape and coastline.

Erreka campsite

The Erreka campsite enjoys a beautiful location just down the road from Bidart Beach and is not far from the Biarritz, the Spanish border, and the mountains. Located in the foothills of the Pyrenees, just six miles from the Biarritz, there is plenty to do and see and the campsite. It's relatively new having just opened in 2015, but has quickly become one of the favourites and is open all year round though the busiest time is of course the summer months. There are hundreds of pitches available for tents, campervans, and caravans, some of which have electricity power points and running water. They also have cottages which can accommodate four to six people and include bedrooms with double or twin beds, private bathrooms with hot showers, and a private terrace with garden furniture. The campsites Coco Sweet Lodges are essentially mobile homes, but are comfortable and can fit up to four guests and include a kitchenette, private bathroom with hot showers, and a private terrace. Other facilities include an onsite restaurant serving up delicious French cuisine, a bar stocked with cold beers and wine, an outdoor swimming pool overlooking the mountains, and a takeaway offering hot food. There is also a grocery store with all the provisions one needs including fresh bread and croissants, laundry facilities with a dryer, bicycles for here, and WiFi throughout the site. There is plenty to entertain kids and adults at the site. Take a dip in the pool, use the heated hot tub, lounge on the sunbeds, work on your tan in the solarium, play boules under the shady trees, or try your hand at ping pong.

Atlantica campsite

The Atlantica Campsite lies just a half kilometre from Saint Jean de Luz beach and the Atlantic ocean. Located near to Biarritz and just 10 minutes from the border of Spain, the campsite is surrounded by wonderful countryside. Without a doubt, this is one of the finest campsites in France, with everything one needs for an excellent holiday and has been awarded four stars. The spacious 3.5 hectare site has almost 200 pitches available for tents, motorhomes, or caravans, most of which are shaded by the onsite trees. There are also mobile homes for rent which include bedrooms, a kitchenette, a private bathroom with hot showers, air conditioning, and a private terrace with garden furniture. A comfortable way to enjoy the area without having to camp. Facilities at the campsite include a grocery store to buy provisions including fresh bread, a restaurant and bar serving excellent cuisine, and internet access throughout the site. During the summer months, the campsite has several live concerts and performances. The outdoor pool is particularly impressive with a couple of hundred square metres of swimming space or differing heights. It's heated throughout the season and is surrounded by sunbeds and parasols. During July and August, aquaerobic classes are offered in the pool during the mornings. Guests can enjoy the sports grounds, the children's' playground, mini golf, gym, and a games room complete with arcade games, table football, and pinball machines. Down on Saint Jean de Luz beach, you can sunbathe, swim or snorkel in the sea, or hire surf boards and hit the surf. If you've never surfed, you can take classes with several of the local schools.

Les Oyats campsite

Les Oyats is another impressive campsite located 10 minutes from the Seignosse beach. It's one of the largest campsites in the region spanning an enormous 17 hectares of gorgeous forest. There are hundreds of pitches available for campers, motorhomes, and caravans, most of which are shaded. They site also has plenty of well maintained mobile homes complete with bedrooms, private bathrooms with hot showers, a kitchenette, and an outdoor terrace with garden furniture. Back in 2016, the campsite completed the build of several luxury cottages which have private hot tubs and make for a great place for visiting couples or families. One reason to bring the family and kids to Les Oyats campsite is the superb aquatic park, which has 700 square metres of outdoor pools complete with plenty of water slides, hot tubs, and sun loungers. These is also a paddling pool for toddlers. The four star campsite features a grocery store, a restaurant serving up good quality dishes, a fully stocked bar, a bicycle hire service, a launderette, a space with a range of treatments including a sauna, stream room, and massages, and WiFi throughout. Guests are welcome to use the tennis courts, sports grounds, boules grounds, table tennis, mini golf, bouncy castles, gym, children's playground, and beach volleyball courts. They have a range of activities on offer from surf lessons to aquaerobics, and dance lessons to petanque competitions.

Club Famille Lou Pignada campsite

The Club Famille Lou Pugnada campsite is nestled in a peaceful location near to the ocean between Vieux Boucau and Messanges. It's a luxury campsite located in a pine forest and is ideal for couples looking for a quiet retreat or families with children. The beaches of the Cote d'Argent are just a mile down the road. The site has plenty of shady pitches for tents, motorhomes, and caravans, some of which have electricity and water supply. Being a luxury campsite, they also have some comfortable lodging including mobile homes and chalets complete with kitchenettes, private bathrooms with hot showers, and terraces with garden furniture. They also have some glamping options with large comfortable tents, and luxury huts on stilts. In the centre of the park, there is a water park which has two outdoor swimming pools, several paddling pools for toddlers, a heated indoor swimming pool, a space with a number of treatments, and three different water slides which will keep the kids occupied for hours. In the wellness centre, guests can find a gym, sauna, sports grounds, and a playground for children. Other activities nearby include surfing, hiking, mountain biking, horse riding, and visits to the picturesque villages dotting the nearby countryside.
