Camping Lido

by Guest

Lake Garda is the largest lake in Italy and lies in the north of the country located between Brescia, Verona, Venice, and Milan near the Dolomite Mountain range. It was created by ice melts after the end of the Ice Age. The name is the same as the nearby town and comes from a Germanic word which means a place of observation.

Though there are plenty of places to camp on the lake, the best site is Camping Lido . It's nestled on the eastern shores of Lake Garda is a beautiful spot near the towns of Pacengo and Lazise. The site is huge at more than 12 hectares of lakeside land open to more than 2,000 visitors. It has spacious grassy pitches available for campers, motorhomes, and caravans. Much of site has been completely renovated. The site has all the facilities you would expect from a modern campground. During the summer months, guests can use the newly built Piscine Park which has four outdoor swimming pools, winding slides, and waterfalls. This is the ideal place to bring families and will keep kids occupied for hours. You can also book private bathrooms if you have a family.

There is a wide variety of pitches available for campers. Normal pitches are almost always shaded, a welcome relief from the midday Italian heat. Some of these pitches border the hedges, and some overlook the beautiful glistening lake. The standard pitches have electrical plugs and are spacious at over 80 square metres which can also accommodate vehicles. A lakeside pitch is a little more expensive, but enjoy views over Lake Garda, have electricity and water hook ups, washrooms with hot showers, and internet access available day and night. They are a little smaller than the standard pitches at 70 square metres, but it is still spacious enough to sit your vehicle should you bring one. The top pitches are the biggest at over 100 square metres. They also have electrical and water hook ups, located near the newly built washroom facilities with hot showers, have WiFi access throughout the year, and spectacular views over the lake. All the pitches are available for tents, motorhomes, and caravans.
